This seems to be the only species of butterfly in my garden this year so far. Where are all the others?

Wonderful shot. We only get one type of butterfly normally, and it's not all that colourful, just lays it's eggs on our citrus trees, and they're not around at the moment.

Beautiful shot! Well captured! The timing for the butterfly is perfection! And, I love the shallow dof. A lot of planning went into this, I can tell! FAV I am not having too much luck with insects and animals, by the time I pull it all together--they are gone! So I am truly impressed with this!

@april16 Thankyou so much for Fav. Very much appreciated.They are quite difficult to capture as they are soon flying off when approached I must have had a lucky day as I did get a few shots but I thought this one was in a more unusual pose from the usual outspread wings.
