obedience plant

Lily has dance near a marina, so I decided to take a walk while I was waiting for her. Most of the wildflowers seemed to have gone to seed so I was surprised to see a whole bank filled with some type of small sunflower and these flowers. I love this orchidy-pink color and the little polka dots on the inside of the tube. They are called "obedience plant" because, supposedly if you move the flowers, they stay in that position. I wish I had thought to try it. In a totally ridiculous connection . . . Uncle Steve told me we have two ancestors whose names were Patience and Obedience. I wonder if they were . . .

Very delicate plants. Those aunt's names.. You're asking for it when you name a baby 'Patience'. :)
