all is calm . . . by wiesnerbeth

all is calm . . .

. . . for three minutes. Crazy day. I left school five minutes early at 3:40 and drove 42 minutes to pick Jack up for school and drop him off at Holy Family to help put food bags together. Went home to pick up Lily and drop her off at dance. From dance went back to church to pick Jack up then to Panera to pick up dinner. Then back to dance to drop off Lily's dinner and back home to drop off dinner and Jack. Ate some shrimp couscous salad then back to pick up bread at the grocery store and pick up Lily. In all the coming and going I had three minutes to stop in the lobby at Holy Family and snap this photo of the Nativity. I love the way our church is decorated at Christmas. There are Christmas trees all around the inside of the church. Each one is decorated by parishioners and reflect the many different "home" countries of the parishioners. The Nativity is set up in the lobby. Every single inch is covered with lights. There is also a fountain and some fake "flames" in the fire pit. It's quite a sight! As I walked into the lobby I could hear the 10:30 choir practicing one of my favorite hymns: "They'll Know We Are Christians." Lovely moment.

That was nice that you took a moment out of chaos to capture this scene.
