My friend Dahlia and I went to a teacher workshop called "Beneath the Quilts" at the National Museum of Women in the Arts tonight. It's a great exhibit if you are visiting Washington D.C., in the near future. They wouldn't let us take pictures of the quilts . . . very disappointing (but the workshop was really good) . . . which is why this is a picture of some trees lit up on New York Avenue instead. I don't know why these trees are here, but the lights made it look like it had been snowing. Very lovely. The alternative for the today's photo was a screen shot of the "pay-to-park" message on my phone (evidence in case of a parking ticket -- we also have several photos of the parking restrictions sign, and the pay-to-park meter as well . . . ). It's just a thrill a minute over here.

I didn't know there was a National Museum of Women in the Arts! Learn something new every day. Guess I better get myself to DC soon. There's a SAQA conference at the beginning of May...

@margonaut May is a beautiful time to visit DC . . . But the exhibit leaves some time in April. :(. The museum is really nice without the quilts though . . . What is the SAQA conference?

It's a conference for members of the Studio Art Quilt Associates, an organization for art quilters. Here's a link to the SAQA site, in case you're interested. http://www.saqa.com/about.php?cat=1
