Went to Marianne's house to work on the raffle quilt where it was discovered that the borders were all the wrong size. Discussed several options for fixing them. Became overwhelmed after measuring many times and coming up with a different answer every time. Decided to eat chocolate while waiting for Shannon to come over and help us. Wished many times during the afternoon that these were stress balls not fabric balls. Marianne may be ready to kill me.
Most "mistakes" are an opportunity in disguise. I'm sure the quilt will be better for it in the end. Does she use these fabric strips for something other than decoration? They look about right for weaving, or wrapping clothesline for bowls, or rug-making...
@margonaut Hers are just for decoration. They are a little too small for wrapping clothesline. I gave some to another friend who used them for weaving . . . she made me a rug with them, so I was really happy! Thanks for the encouragement . . . the quilt is back on track. We just need to applique the corners and then we'll be ready to adjust the outer borders.
