My second graders have been reading "Alexander, Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday," and now they are writing their own stories about having money and spending it. In the book Alexander rents his friend's snake for an hour, so today we "rented" the ducks from upstairs (75 cents for 45 minutes). Every day should be this much fun.
