Went over to my friend Shannon's house to talk about quilting and had to take a stroll through her garden. The lilacs were so beautiful . . . my grandparents had a lilac bush outside their kitchen. They weren't really gardners . . . playing in their yard was like walking through a minefield -- the grass was covered with pricker weeds and those spikey balls from the sweet gum tree. But the lilacs made it all worthwhile . . .
