I received a very generous grant from the Community Foundation of Northern Virginia to have a cooking club at my school. Since the 2nd and 3rd graders weren't able to take the field trip to the farmers market I had some money left over, so they each got a cutting board, cookbook, ladle, and measuring spoons. One little girl was so excited . . . as she was leaving she told her mother, "Look, I have my own supplies and they're not for you!"
