My 2nd graders have been reading "Big Mama's" by Donald Crews as part of the Being a Writer program. Part of the lesson was to walk around the school and take or draw pictures to get story ideas. One of my little guys was thrilled when he found this "home," although he wasn't sure what lived there! He took the picture at the edge of the woods near one of our playgrounds.
