getting a jump on next year's Christmas projects

Started this Advent wreath table quilt on the first day of Advent in 2013. It was mostly finished on Epiphany this year, but then I decided to add 30 or 40 more buttons and some rick rack . . . Finally finished it at 1:00 this morning. I'm killing two birds with one stone and using it as my "My Favorite Things" guild challenge. Finally have something finished (except for the sleeve) (and label) weeks before the deadline!!
Love it! What a great idea. At first I thought that you probably put little votives (in holders, of course!) on top of it during Advent. But I can see a button in the middle where the Christ candle would go, so I guess not. Love the edge treatment and all the buttons!

Your skills always amaze me. Seven flaps on four side for seven days of the four weeks in advent. The more I look, the more I see!

@margonaut No you were right . . . I'm planning to put votives (in holders!) where the flowers are. In the Catholic Church I don't think we use the Christ candle . . . (Is it white and in the middle?) . . . at least I've never noticed it. But a friend told me the same thing so that's why the green button is in the center. I'm thinking of going to our paint your own pottery place to paint little saucers to hold the votives. And I was going to make my own candles from old crayons. That will really put it over the top!

@laurielizard You are so kind! I'm glad you pointed out the four sides with seven flaps each . . . that was a total fluke! But I love to put little symbols of things in my quilts so I'm glad you shared that connection. Now I will always think of you when I light the candles!
