Erie has a "Let's Get Outdoors" program every summer. Trails and maps are in a brochure. You follow the maps to locate signs like this one, then write down the code numbers. You can turn it in for a prize in the fall. My mother is very competitive so she lives for this kind of stuff. The kids are not as excited. This marker is in McKean Community Park. Down the street from here is a pet cemetery where Bonzo, the chimpanzee from the Ronald Reagan movie "Bedtime for Bonzo," is buried. This activity was met with mixed enthusiasm -- the girls would not get out of the car, my dad was confused, and my mom wouldn't leave until we found the grave. This was typical of many of our cemetery outings. Oh yes, there has been more than one "Search in a Cemetery for Something." We know how to have fun.
