My daughter Lily and I were at the Smithsonian for a college project and happened upon a live broadcast of the “side door” podcast with Tony Cohn. It was Food History Weekend so he was talking with Maricel Presilla — the fort Latin American woman guest chef at the White House — and Jerome Grant — the chef who created the menu for The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. One of my favorite moments came at the end when Maricel got out her phone and started taking pictures of the guys and the audience. Here they’re taking a selfie with the audience in the background.
@margonaut I didn’t know about it either, but my daughter listens to it. The one that’s up there now — “Murder is Her Hobby” is very good. — I have been thinking about you and sending prayers for you and your kids.
@wiesnerbeth thank you for the prayers. I listened to "Murder is Her Hobby" too and loved it. Not at all what I expected from the title! Did you hear the part about the tiny sewing machine with a real needle?
