swirl by swirl

Ever since I started library school (4 years ago now), I’ve wanted to do a lesson on one of my favorite books, “Swirl by Swirl” by Joyce Sidman. I’ve been collecting nature spirals (sunflower heads, pinecones, a seahorse, a nest) for years in anticipation. Today was finally the day! Read the book to a Kindergarten class, showed them my treasures, then they made these little snails.
You are such a good librarian! I love it that you're so passionate about the books, and the kids.

@margonaut You are so kind — thank you! I’ve had a rough first year, and the last week was especially disheartening, so I really appreciate your kindness!
