Every time I iron clothes (which is fairly rare, although I’ve ironed this one twice in as many weeks), I think about the time one of the members of my Girl Scout troop taught us how to iron a men’s shirt for her housekeeping badge. As I stood here pressing tonight, I was both happy that my daughter earned more interesting badges than housekeeping, and sad that the Girl Scouts hadn’t taught her to iron her own clothes.
I'm guessing that's the badge when I learned that wiping down the stove was part of cleaning up after dinner. I remember being shocked that it had to be done EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. LOL!
@eudora I know! My brothers were in the Indian Guides — they didn’t learn how to iron either! I did teach my oldest son to iron, but I know he doesn’t do it. I don’t think he owns an iron.
