They’ve removed the canvas over our picnic area at the marina. It was a little chilly for sewing without the top, but at least the sun was warm. We ate lunch wrapped up in quilts and coats. Being outside was lovely. Hope we can eke out one more picnic before Christmas.
@margonaut You are a southern girl! I grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania, (long cold winters, lots of snow). I lived in Virginia for 30 years before I bought a winter coat (two years ago). But I have a narrow range of “ideal temperature” — 50s to about 75. I can eke it up to 77 but anything over that is too hot. I’d never be able to hack it in the south — I can barely survive here. Weirdly, I don’t mind 32 degrees, but I’m freezing when it’s 40. I went camping with my kids once — every time it’s 40 degrees I feel like I’m back in that tent.
Loved your story about not needing a winter coat in Virginia! I live in the South, but I grew up in New Jersey so cold weather invigorates me. Up to a point.
