Not a great way to kick off my second “hike” of the year. I had just barely scaled up the side of the mountain (ok, it was a hill, but it was really steep) when Jack found her on the path. I kind of hate posting this picture, but I think it’s probably the best picture I’ll ever get of a bird. She looked so peaceful and her feathers were so pretty. Jack was thinking she froze to death, but I didn’t think it was that cold. And can that happen to a bird?
