Last day of Hispanic Heritage Month. The fourth graders made these. I think I’ll leave them up for awhile longer — they add some festivity to the library and I’ve finally gotten the other kids to stop jumping up to try to pull them down.
I'm so confused about why the month goes from Sept 15 to Oct 15! These are wonderful, definitely leave them up at least until the end of October, so it seems like a "real" month.
@margonaut Haha! I find it confusing too! It starts September 15 because that was the date of independence from Spain for the first few countries and then over the next 30 days or so, the others gained independence as well.
They are so cheerful that I would leave them up, too. I did not know that about Hispanic Heritage Month. Shame on me--our family includes Mexican Americans.
