this was taken yesterday when we were in Pinjarra, a beautiful & sunny day, it's such a contrast to today's weather...bucketing with rain & very windy!
This is a photo of our Flame Tree (Brachychiton Acerifolius) which is a large deciduous Australian native tree covered in spectacular red flowers when the tree has no leaves.
This was a very popular tree in home gardens at one time, I remember my Nanna having one...unfortunately these days our house blocks are getting smaller & smaller, so often the only place you see them now is in parks & bushland.
@murnane it is such an amazing colour & when you see the whole tree covered it's an amazing sight...I did take a picture of the tree as well but I wasn't very happy with it :(
