Fezzard

Ok so I didn't take this photo, but I did manage to find it today. This is a photo of my grandfather Fezzard Frank Tristam West (1903-1953) taken when he joined the English Merchant Navy in the 1st World War. He was about 16 at the time he enrolled & was aboard one of the ships that went into Gallipoli to bring the wounded out. He later emigrated to Australia at the age of 23 & then joined the Australian Army during World War 2. Unfortunately I never got to meet him & finding out anything about him has been an ongoing challenge. This has got me interested in genealogy & I've been researching our family tree for about 10 years now so finding this photo & the little bit of info that was with it was exciting & I just wanted to share it.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
I hope you are successful in getting more information about your grandfather.
