Another filler taken back in August during our Pinjarra trip. This one was taken at Fairbridge Village just outside of the Pinjarra townsite. Fairbridge is an historic village which has been used for a number of things over the years. First established by Kingsley & Ruby Fairbridge in 1912 as Fairbridge Farm School it was used to house & train underprivileged young people from Australia & England.
Fairbridge Village is the size of a small town with over 55 buildings scattered through a large bush area. Here, native trees and flowers are preserved and native wildlife roams freely.
Today, while it is still used to provide training & support for young people, it is also a place where you can spend a lovely family holiday in individual cottages with many outdoor facilities available & proceeds from your stay goes to the upkeep of the village & also towards the work the society does to help young people & their families.
