Leaves

These are leaves falling off the cabbage trees (Cordyline australis - New Zealand natives). I always collect them from my garden, bundle them together, and use them in winter to light up the fireplace.

My pick of the tags are '”Leaves” and “Portrait”.
Love the textures in this, especially beautiful when viewed large. Wonderful rich brown too. Great composition and a lovely image.

Very clever -- a portrait of leaves! And that's interesting to know that you are able to use these as firewood.

Hey, I'll have to tell John this - he's always complaining about these very strong and tough leaves! Maybe I could weave me a skirt?

Haha. I shall make a portrait of my husband frowning at the leaf stuck in lawnmowers. Portrait against landscape, I though it counts. @kali66

I really like both the lines your bundled leaves produce the close-up pov which brings out their texture. Nice shot! And it sounds lovely to use them as fire starters!
