Thanks Kali's captivating photo and thought ( http://365project.org/kali66/365)
I feel grateful living in NZ and seeing sunset just as sunset (In this case sunrise).
I cannot rate a movie when most of the time I was sitting there saying to myself "I don't get it". “Exhibition” directed by Joanna Hogg confuses me, by leaving 15mins earlier for a meeting also not helping. If you are conservative or easily to be embarrassed, think twice.
I love the light and softness of this stunning sunrise--great one, Yao! (I'm not familiar with the movie "Exhibition." My guess is that is one of those films that pretends to be deep but, wants to shock people just for the sake of the "shock.")
@paulam Thanks Paula. There are plenty of ‘Arty” films, some struck the chord within me but this one just not working for people like me with blood type O. But I might be wrong because I did not finish it.
I guess not sunrise or sunset is "simple". The beauty and colors are too unique to be ignored. I don't go to the movies very much. There are too many other things that are more interesting to do. And most of the time the subject matter, the ratings and the bombardment of foul language, excessive violence and sexual inuendos or scenes is not what I want to pump into my brain. So I don't know anything about the movie you mentioned, but I do know that I like this shot! It's beautiful and that's something I like to put in my brain!
@olivetreeann I totally understood, there are so many big budget movies that are only skin deep and that I don’t go. But there are a lot of little nice documentaries and films that depict human relationships, natural world and creative energy that I found very inspiring. It gives me ideas for photography too.
Every year, I indulge myself (and it is hard work too) to our International Film Festival and most movies are not main stream and never reach the cinema. It also help me get over the winter here.
@yaorenliu Yes, some of the lesser known films are much better and far more inspiring. When our granddaughter came to visit I ended up buying some old movies from my childhood on DVD to watch with her. I discovered they are timeless- as I saw how much she loved them- just the way I did when I was her age. I think I'll be adding a few more to the collection for her next visit! And I think they'll be fun to watch in the winter too- definitely a good way to stay out of the cold in the winter!
:)
