Mason Bay

Only a month ago, we were walking on this beach, now about 145 pilot whales have died following a mass stranding. So sad.

i read the story of the girl who found the whales , must have been beyond comprehension, was also a mini stranding of 8 pigmy whales in Northland a few days ago .

I hate hearing about the whales getting stranded. My friend was in the Coromandel when it happened there, she tells me the noise they make was the most distressing thing she'd ever heard.
