9:08 a.m. The vet called. We’re switching the antibiotic and he’s subscribing an appetite stimulant. She might have to go back to the hospital if she doesn’t get better in the next couple days. 😕
11:23 a.m. I went and picked up Honey's new meds and gave them to her when I got home. Within the hour, she was eating again. MAZEL TOV!! HALLELUJAH!! PRAISE BABY JESUS!! and all that stuff.
12:45 p.m. Honey is finally acting like herself again. She sat in the sun, ate a couple more times including some treats, jumped on the couch saying hi to Pearl who didn't hiss at her, went after a bug in the window and now she's resting on the back of the couch. I'm not getting too excited but I'm hopeful. The new antibiotic seemed to kick in right away.
An update from April 27: Her new found energy and strength didn't last long. By today she was weak again and feeling crummy. I didn't know it but we were supposed to give her BOTH antibiotics. I found that out today when we took her back to the vet to check her out. So, we're back to both antibiotics, the anti-nausea meds, the appetite stimulant, the Prednisone and the sub-q fluids. I hope she feels better soon. Still waiting for the test results from the advanced blood work panel on infectious diseases.
Eating is a good sign.
Get well Honey.
