I bopped up to Rookwood before Mahj to return some sweaters at Stein Mart. I couldn't believe the HUGE potted plants outside the stores. With this one I could see the LeBlond tower peaking through the leaves.
When I first moved here in 1981, The R.K. LeBlond Machine Tool Company was still in operation (since 1918) at the corners of Madison and Edwards in Norwood before moving its operation to Mason as Makino Machine Tool Company. The site was converted into a shopping and eatery complex in 1993 and the iconic LeBlond smoke stack was built into its design.
