Another dreary, rainy day. This was taken just before sunset from the bottom of our paddock, but using the zoom. This is the local catholic church, and the red building is the fire station
It;s a pleasant scene and I like the muted colours and contours of the hills. My eye went to the pointy tree, a fir or pine of some sort. Is that a NZ native tree?
@laroque I believe it's a Norfolk Pine. Apparently When Captain Cook first sighted Norfolk Island with these trees near the shore, his eyes lit up. It wasn't their beauty so much as their potential for perfectly straight ships' masts. Unfortunately the timber proved to be too weak to be used for masts
