Hangi Stone by yorkshirekiwi

Hangi Stone

When I visited the Lava glass studio, I treated myself to a piece of artwork. The design represents the steam from the thermal land around Taupo, and the shape itself evokes the smooth oval form of river stones, shaped by water, heated by fire and laid in the earth in the traditional Maori cooking pit - the Hangi. As the glass ''stones'' are shaped by the artist, colours are layered on the outside, making each a unique work of art.
I bought some little battery operated lights to make it shine like a lamp at night
That is a lovely piece of glassware!
