Fledgling blackbird by yorkshirekiwi

Fledgling blackbird

Lockdown is already wearing thin. I can't get to my usual bird haunts by foot, so today I took a deckchair to the bottom of the paddock, and spent a pleasant couple of hours in the fresh air. The birds were a bit allusive, the trees are in full foliage now, so difficult to get any clear shots. This young blackbird landed on the fence, just long enough to take a shot.
Great capture

Good on you for just chilling in the outdoors - it’s good for your sanity. Lockdowns are tricky.

Great shot. Can't believe that you are still in lockdown. Will it ever end.

@rickster549 We're just 18 months behind the rest of the world. After our initial 4 week lockdown when it all began, we had a good run with no restrictions at all. We just got caught short with the Delta variant. Not enough people vaccinated, and not enough ICU beds. We're lucky really, Auckland has it worse than us, having had 60 days currently, so I shouldn't complain
