Shattered

A couple of days ago there was a 5.1 magnitude earthquake about 70km away from us. It was the first time we'd been woken by doors rattling and the bed shaking. Nothing seemed damaged. However, we woke this morning to find that our glass shelved television stand had shattered overnight. We have no idea how that has happened, and wondering if the quake cracked it, and it finally shattered. The purple is the colour of my dustpan!
That’s really too bad the television stand is in pieces. At least you got an interesting shot here.

Nice capture and very real narrative. It sure was a jolt early in the morning. The only sighting here was the pictures on the wall.

Fabulous focus and tones...glad you are otherwise ok and agree with your assumption about it cracking

It's actually an interesting composition for a story.. I thought it was a rock at first

Wow ... that's quite story and a great image!

It would be interesting to know if the earthquake jarred it, making it shatter at a later date.

A shame about the glass stand but you have turned a bad situation into a great photo opportunity

What drama is evoked here.

Incredible image. I hope that's the only resulting damage you see!

A lovely photograph of this piece of shattered glass. The earthquake could well have been the cause of this. Amazing.

Oh wow. Does seem strange that it would just break like that, without some kind of external force. Cool capture.
