On the Tongariro Crossing

Not strictly taken by me. Set the camera up and passed it to someone else. We were very happy to be on the way back down. We got to the South crater, but had to abandon, due to severe weather conditions. Ie very wet, windy and cold. Interestingly, we met the DOC rangers on the way up to rescue two Dutch girls who'd got lost. They passed us on the way up and looked inadequately dressed. They obviously made the wrong decision to continue, whereas we decided to try another day
Nice capture Carole. You look pretty well rugged up.You would think that the Dutch girls would be prepared for inclement weather !!

A shame you had to abandon your crossing. NZ alpine conditions can throw anhy kind of weather at you at any time of the year.
