Tilt-shift 1 (another view from staff room through window!)
@kali did research on the cameras I use and found out my little point and click will do tilt-shift (it's called miniature on the menu). So she's challenged me to do this sort of photography or dutch-tilt so going to have a go at both!
Today I opened the window as far as it would go in the staff room (this seems to be a recurring theme lately-sorry!)and pointed and clicked.
I think it just looks out of focus but that's probably because of the angle - the windows only open 4", just wide enough for a hand with small camera probably so none none of us escape that way?
@kali66 think perspective wrong, but if I go up cathedral tower at weekend will have another go from a real high height.
@365anne Its a technique that makes the view look like a miniature village. On line photos are amazing and the instructions on how to make your own lens, or post process on Photoshop are beyond my ken.
Think tomorrow I'll do a comparison shot from same angle see if there is a difference.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond They are fantastic! Thanks for the link, not sure if I can do this on my camera, will have to investigate. Great push for you this week, I will watch with interest.
@365anne I really enjoy these challenges, they are so interesting and I'm learning new terminology as well as techniques, who knew where my one month chalenge in April would lead me!!!
the thing with this shot is you have done it vertically, the tilt-shift works by blurring above/beyond and also in front /closer than the subject , this gives the illusion of something being small, so try again with horizontal format.
It is an interesting effect.
Its something I want to try sometime.
Don't have it on my camera (I don't think) but can create it on Photoshop Elements I think.
@stevepam I
tend not to post edit except to crop/ straighten. Perhaps when my photography skills improve then I'll progress to Photoshop/ light room? @billygreen
