Following In The Footsteps of Turner

Vistied Petworth in Sussex today to view the daffs (but we were 2 weeks early!). Took loads of pictures of logs and deer, we saw a hobby, had lunch and ambled into the house where Turner painted in his spacious, well lit studio and viewed the statuary in the gallery.
As we left I asked the cost of the tickets to view the paintings and was challenged on how come we were where we were, as we had no right to have been up to the studio- it's part of the £12 per person tour!
Ooops!!
@olivetreeann This the first photo taken all month that I visualised in B&W before I clicked AND turned out as I hoped!! Haven't followed all the thread ideas to the letter but enjoyed the results and have learned a few processing skills along the way. Thank you for taking on the task of the flashofred thread. J

Well done you for 'stumbling' into the studio. Love the shot and the lighting. It does work so well in b&w

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Good job Jackie! Turner was an amazing artist so I'm sure it was an inspiring place to be. You took advantage of some great light too. Isn't that a cool feeling when you think about the shot, take it and it comes out as you expected? I just love it when that happens. Good shot!

Great capture-love the light shaft & free to boot by perchance.
Have been through Petworth a number of times on my way somewhere else but never stopped. Will have to make sure I do sometime.

I was at Petworth two weeks ago. Went on the tour which was free to members. The studio was not, but people were going there anyway and no one was challenging them! NT hadn't made it very clear so their fault, not yours!

Am envious of your Turner outing. The nearest I've been is seeing the film. I was blown away!

Meanwhile I'm your Get Pushed partner for this week. I've browsed your photos and by your own admission, taking shot of people isn't (yet) a comfort zone. Your recent shot of oriental visitors is a great candid. I'd like you to build on what you learned from this shot and take another. If this gives you the heebie geebies, do say...and I'll suggest something else.

Looking forward to your challenge for me. Revenge is sweet ;-) ??
