This gentleman has worked at the museum for 12 years. We watched him and a colleague milling the grain and packaging the flour. He told us about some of the buildings in the vicinity and that the 17th century mill grinds 20 tonnes of flour a year.
Wow, Jackie, this is a GREAT portrait -- I hope you can give him a copy of this. You captured a sense of his long term commitment, and he seems very comfortable in having this portrait made.
FAV I can’t even find the right superlatives to comment on this fabulous photo. What an amazing professional looking portrait. Too Bad I can’t FAV it more than once

This is brilliant it has a real feeling of the past, such a good subject. I think he may be very practiced at having his photo taken. I think he would love a copy of this!!
Absolutely FAV.
3333 - What a Way to Reach It !!!!! This is truly special - the fortune to have him behind the demonstration area barrier - the lighting - his comfort in himself and with you .... TOP NOTCH 🏆🥇 🏆
Full of character. Windy Miller! Loved that baker on Trumpton and Camberwick Green. I shall be singing the firemen song all day now. Pugh Pugh Barney McGrew Cuthbert Dibble Grub (whistle)
@casablanca I had never heard of Camberwick Green before reading your comment. Thanks to good old Wikipedia and YouTube, I now know what you were talking about. I was a teenager in 1966, so even if I’d been in the UK instead of Kansas, sadly I probably wouldn’t have grown up knowing the Firemen song. I doubt I will make the effort to seek it out and memorize it, but at least I’m not quite as culturally ignorant as I was before! Ha ha 🤣
@mcsiegle Love it! It was always such a lot of fun. I watched it in Black and White on our rented TV but when we got a colour one in the 70's I got to see the colours too! A bit of my childhood nostalgia 😀
