The Silver Fox instead of Goldilocks? by 30pics4jackiesdiamond

The Silver Fox instead of Goldilocks?

A wholemeal loaf and a brioche proving and cheese scone dough resting. All being baked tomorrow ready to take in a lactose free Christmas hamper.

The christmices are hoping they will do a bit of quality control tasting of the scones.
They didn't help you mix it up?? The little slackers! Yes, definitely let them at least help with quality control. 🤣

I love this composition. I have loved your Christmice series as well. You’re so good to go to the trouble of making lactose free food.

@wakelys seems to have excellent climbing skills
@grammyn easy enough to find ingredients these days for her Katy and the plant based butter seems to bake ok. Going to do her Brandy butter too
@mcsiegle I might share!

I've been watching The Great British Baking Show all afternoon in hopes the Silver Fox and the rest of the crew might inspire me to get up and bake a bit for Christmas. (Didn't happen). Hope your bakes turn out well and are enjoyed by everyone. Cute photo. I guess the churchmices are traveling too?

@anniesue Hmmmm! The scone mix turned a wierd colour overnight in the fridge, as if it oxidised
@happysnaps me too, meece pie doesn't sound good
@pusspup possibly so

@kjarn nope, they're useless

Lovely composition, detail and tones and narrative Jackie:)

@anniesue the scones tasted ok, but a bit 'lardy' in texture, will tweak the recipe when I use plant based butter next time
December 23rd, 2022
@30pics4jackiesdiamond re the 'oxidisation' - seeing that is learning what 'normal' is for that recipe I suppose. Here's to am airier texture nex time,
