Symmetry (a la Mona?) by 30pics4jackiesdiamond

Symmetry (a la Mona?)

Camera course homework this month is 30 days of composition and today's prompt is symmetry. I had a vision and managed this in half a dozen attempts. I did add a bit of bokeh, light flare and stuff, but none looked right so here it is slightly healed but otherwise sooc.

Any constructive critique welcome, but I'm quite chuffed as yet again done on manual and I used the tripod whatsit-thingy straight away too!!
Looks wonderful Jackie! I have the books still have to start, soon i promise.

This is well done, Jakie. A great idea, for a symmetry theme. Love it. Very coolfor sooc and good you kept it clean, without bokeh and such. And I blush a bit, if that "Mona" in the title is me. ;-) As you ask for feedback, I hope you do not mind if I mention some ideas to try:
Why not rotate it in portrait orientation? Would trick the eye a surprising bit.
Probably you could also burn the depths (background) with a soft brush a bit. And highlight the sunflowers yellow with a dodge brush. Also a bit more contrast would help maybe. Just let me know, if you need help in post processing.

Super duper Mona-esque photo!

@mona65 thank you Mona!! I have no idea what dodge is or burn, they're terms I've heard but never used. The petals do need to be made to stand out more, I'll have a look on Topaz to see what's there and have a play! @jacqbb when you start look for me if you have the app, I'm CameraJackie!!
@ludwigsdiana no way could have done this without aywmc course!!
@joansmor ;)
@phil_sandford thank you

Like this. Prefer the landscape to the portrait (can’t say why, just do)

Great shot

I prefer this version to the portrait version. It seems more natural and it looks beautiful viewed on the black background.

I prefer this version too Jackie. To me the colours are clearer. If anything I'd try to darken or clone out the line above the flowers. I've recently stuck my toe into the dodge and pool but without much success. There is soo much to learn :)

@phil_sandford I like the natural-ness but it's too dark
@bkbinthecity thank you
@randystreat the processed onebisbover done which many on 365 like ( just look at TT each week!)
@merrelyn googled it today, none the wiser!!
