The walkway around the rooftop of The Vyne in Basingstoke is a bit scary I mean how often do you get to look down on 10' tall chimneys? The volunteers are so knowledgeable and watching the carpenters rebuilding the roof using 500 year old skills is interesting..
The Vyne hosted Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, but it seems he already had designs on Jane Seymour during his visit.
The best bit of the roof tour??... dropping a £1 down a chute and waiting for the clang on the cymbal when it got ground level. Spotting Lego men was fun too
