Gold Hill was made famous in the 1973 Hovis advert which was voted the nation's favourite advertisement!! There's even a huge loaf of wholemeal bread at the top of the hill to donate to local charities that's been there since 1980. When a Brit hears Dvorak's New World Symphony they fancy a brown bread sarnie ( mines with cheese please!)
Phil sorry to have missed you by 24 hours!! I can recommend the Mitre for brunch, today the abbey and the museum were both closed but do look worth a visit.
Well I watched the ad, then an updated view. I like your photo better. It seems to have more character. You did a good job of showing the steepness of the hill, the lovely old houses and the vista beyond.
