The Billy Line was the rail service from the mainland to the south of Hayling Island and was a victim of the Beeching Cuts. These stumps are all that remains of the bridge.
Hmm. I looked at this earlier and thought I saw a road/track-way, but realize it was the shoreline in the distance. It is a shame that they didn't take the stumps away, unless they serve a purpose of corralling the boats.
When I looked at this on my phone I also saw a roadway/bridge like Kathy, it wasn't until I looked on the computer that I saw the shoreline in the distance @randystreat
@kjarn tide was just turning, that shore goes under water @joysabin that's what caught my eye @randystreat I think they're too deeply embedded make for difficult navigation into the harbour!! @jacqbb yup, well spotted @wakelys mention it to next year's mayor?! @grammyn oh it does!! Yachts may only pass between the taller stumps at certain times in the tide as it totally dries out
Do I see the naval buildings representing a war ship on the hill left?
