@30pics4jackiesdiamond@salza@paul10@abf277 thanks for all your comments I always appreciate the encouragement. Just mentioned my frustrations to my son who said you need a good macro lens and extra lighting to get good shots of jewellery - hence my frustration as I have neither!
@365anne I love experimenting with macro and so far found telephoto lens, macro setting or small f stop (or could be large .....needs big aperture!! I'm still muddle by Fstops!!) on manual setting gives me best results. Natural lighting is best and now were going into winter macro may cease with me here!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thanks for all that info and suggestions Jackie, however, my camera is a bridge camera so my settings are very limited and it has a fixed lens so no option of changing. I use the macro setting quite a bit but as today, it's limits can be frustrating!
Telephoto & macro on bridge works well, REALLY need good light for that though!!! Keep practicing! On digital it's free to delete and no one else sees our errors. I'm a novice but found my playing at photography has taken on a serious, nerdy stance since uploading daily.
Anne, this is beautiful. What a gorgeous piece of jewellery. You have made a very good job of photographing what I would imagine, is difficult to achieve. Fav
now, for your push. you will need to really open your eyes around you for this one and really use your creativity and instinct. i would like you to photograph things that look like letters, and form the words 'thank you' in a collage. here are some examples: http://365project.org/summerfield/365-still/2015-10 http://365project.org/olivetreeann/themes-and-comp/2012-02
good luck and have fun!
