For my get pushed challenge this week - "I wondered about a challenge to take a high contrast black and white shot. Lots of black, lots of white, as little grey as possible. You choose the subject". from @rachelwithey So here is my first try.....
Wow, so different from yesterday's colour! I like how you've set this up, and those curves look organic. Think your challenge this week is challenging and this is a clever response to it :)
Nice plate, looks organic...
I'm thinking about this iamge. I think it's the cream coloured white. Did you edit it in Lightroom to black and white? Also I wonder what a square format would, the plate being square (square-ish).
@overalvandaan Yes, the white does look rather cream here. No, Iit is as I took it, I don't have Lightroom! The plate is actually an upside down bowl and I agree it would probably look better squared off but I don't know how to do that!
So it's a 'natural' black and white
or did you convert your image to black and white afterwards? Which photo editor do you use? In PicMonkey for example, a free photo editor, you can crop to square. If you need help, let me know :-)
@overalvandaan Thank you so much for your offer of help. It is a "natural" black and white photo - is the term SOOC?? The only photo editor I have is one pre-installed on the laptop called Photo Director 3, I used this to crop the "Blanket" photo but didnt see a way to change the shape to a square......
Sorry, I don't know Photo Director 3. But a lot of photo editors will usually have a possibility to crop and change the dimensions, f.e.1716 x 1716. In PicMonkey under basis edits, there is a crop section. In there you can choose square, or set the dimensions yourself. You don't have to download PicMonkey. Upload a picture, work on it, and then save it on your laptop.
