That does seem unusual for the UK. That is our norm.

@randystreat @joansmor @koalagardens @shutterbug49 Thanks for commenting. This has happened occasionally in the past but with all the rain we had over the Spring and early Summer I am surprised to see the island has appeared again this year

@olivetreeann No, this is a disused gravel pit, I guess it is just evaporation over several hot weeks. It does happen most years but this year it is quite marked
