After 50-70 years of growth, a typical saguaro cactus will grow 3 to 6 branches or "arms." This old-timer, estimated to be 150 years old, has put out three dozen arms. It's an extraordinary specimen with numerous battle scars to attest to its hardiness.

I hope it survives. They had a dreadful news story about the loss of so many of the saguaro. This old-timer should be protected like our old oak trees.
