Less than 100 yards from where these two were having fun, two teenage boys were swept off the rocks into the sea by a "sneaker" wave in 2011. Both drowned. There is a memorial to the tragedy on shore and lots of warning signs along the shoreline at this point, but people get caught up in the moment, I guess, and ignore the warnings.
