"What is so special about Edinburgh?
Edinburgh Is Famous For ?
There are many things Edinburgh is famous for like its literary heritage, historic cobbled streets and striking architecture. Not to mention its world-famous whisky walks and festivals." And more:
Edinburgh is Scotland's compact, hilly capital. It has a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. Looming over the city is Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny, used in the coronation of Scottish rulers. Arthur’s Seat is an imposing peak in Holyrood Park with sweeping views, and Calton Hill is topped with monuments and memorials.
A beautiful collage of this delightful city - fav! I recently bought a walking guide to 'Hidden Edinburgh', and discovered how much more there is for me to discover there. However, we have a history of problems with travel to Edinburgh. Last time I went, the rail journey back to York, which should have taken less than three hours took eight hours due to a section of washed out track and a very long diversion. Perhaps I should be more courageous and have another trip!
