GOLD

By 1879, Bodie had a population of approximately 7,000–10,000 people and around 2,000 buildings. One legend says that in 1880, Bodie was California's second or third largest city, but the U.S. Census of that year disproves this. Over the years 1860–1941 Bodie's mines produced gold and silver valued at an estimated US$34 million (in 1986 dollars, or $85 million in 2021).
amazing capture and info about this old mining town. I love the dusty dirt road of which we still have plenty.

Very barren landscape with hidden treasures. Beautiful composition and the dust on the road creates a mood of isolation.
