Undaunted

Walking around Toronto's largest cemetery today, I came upon this statue to commemorate a firefighter named Jason. Once home, I found this link with more information. (I hope it works for everyone.)

Jason died from cancer in 2015. He was 50 years old. "His death was classified as a line of duty death."

This statue "was commissioned not only as a tribute to him but also as a memorial for all firefighters who died in the line of duty."

This statue is titled "Undaunted": "Not intimidated or discouraged by difficulty, danger, or disappointment."

Very impressive! A memorial to a local firefighter was unveiled here the week I was gone.

@illinilass I'm glad to hear that, Dorothy. I feel that firefighters are sometimes underappreciated.

That seems a lovely tribute. Sometimes we seem to forget to give enough thanks to our local community heroes.
