A well photographed carrot , most visitors to NZ might have seen this .
Initially this carrot was built for a T V add for The ANZ Bank once filming complete it was donated to the town .
2/3 S of North Island’s carrots come from Ohakune
The Carrot is 7.5 metres in height.
The first market gardens were started by Chinese 1920
@grammyn Hello Katy , Carrots were one of the first vegetables grown by the Chinese back in 1920 in the first market gardens however the 7.5 metre carrot originally was built for a TV spot advertising for the ANZ Bank once filming finished was donated to the Town ,2/3 of NI carrots are grown there .

We have lots of Big Things here in Australia, but I don't think we have a big carrot.
