22nd Jan 2023 - Weta NZ native is related to grasshoppers, locusts, crickets, they have powerful hind legs for jumping , communicate by rubbing hind legs on the sides if their bodies making a chirpy sound, it take 1 to 2 yrs to become fully grown length is 4-6 cm
