This is a lamp base I found at Pottery Barn several years ago. I'd seen it in a catalog filled with cards and was immediately drawn to it. However, when I found it at the store, it was just an empty frame...and ugly. They priced it to sell in a hurry, so I scooped it up for a song, brought it home & filled it...it's a favorite of mine still.
Kwalabear & Denise: No post ptoduction sepia tone,,,probably the Grandaddy of No-No's, but I just turned on the lamp and took the picture. And the postcards *are* old; they're photo postcards.
The angle you took this at really adds interest. Hahahaha You can keep just turning on that lamp to take photos, adds a nice vintage feel to the photo. Anything you get at Pottery Barn for clearance price is a good find to me! Love it!
Great photo! I remember this lamp, too! I wanted to buy it because I was collecting old postcards (and selling many on eBay!), but I finally ended up buying out the postcard racks of a closing store. Where are the racks now? Sold them later at a garage sale because they took up too much room in the house. Now I wish I had bought that lamp. :-(
