"Ornithological" Origami?

Back when I was contemplating signing on to do the Alphabet Challenge, this little piece caught my eye where it sits on my shelf nearby. I thought, "If I can captue 'O', the rest should fall into place!" I might have been dilusional to think this would be easy, but I was hooked!

An important friend in my life made me this crane, atop an Origami box, for a past birthday. I have to add that she's an incredible artist who can create little masterpieces in miniature, as well as distinctive artists journals. Someday I hope she'll be tempted into the 365 community as well!
This is gorgeous. What a lovely piece to have. Friends' gifts to us are always a treasure.

I love this! I was given a little Origami book this past Christmas. I would love to learn how to do this. I'm sure I don't have the patience for it though. Nice photo!

Nice photo and touching story. I am quite partial to Oragami especially after reading Sadako and 1000 cranes ( I think that's the title but it was about 30 years ago I read the book!)
